Kirche - Geschöpf und Werkzeug des Evangeliums

Christian faith is existence in history, thus real existence and thus existence in the church. The church is a creature of the gospel, since it is based on how the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ became evident at Easter as a communal celebration and testimony to this truth. At the same time, as a community of celebration and testimony, it is an instrument of the gospel, with which the gospel itself can openly proclaim its truth in each historical present. At the core of the Church's identity as an instrument of the gospel is the holy communion. In order to maintain the original character of the holy communion, the church requires the canon of texts which are read and interpreted in the church services, the ordinance of the office which has given the canon validity in the church and society, the ordinances of the individual churches as well as the ecumenical ordinances of the community in which all the local churches are organized.
