Klaus Lange's in-depth study of German local government law has been thoroughly updated and revised for its second edition, incorporating new case law and literature wherever possible. Mainly, though not exclusively, the changes made deal with the constitutional guarantee of local authority self-governance, the financing of these councils, the participation of citizens, municipal economic activity, and inter-authority cooperation.
