Summary
Starting from the philosophy of Martin Heidegger, pure hermeneutics has increasingly infected humanities and the social sciences in the last few years. In hermeneutics the metaphor of the text has been taken as the leading notion of a total conception in which knowledge is taken as interpretation and opposes critical realism and its methodological conceptions of the social sciences, jurisprudence, historiography, theology and economics.
