Rebekka Hye-Knudsen examines the European Law on International Civil Procedure which is relevant in proceedings over the infringement of intellectual property rights. She focuses on the jurisdiction of the member states' courts to rule in such proceedings. Since the effective protection of intellectual property rights often depends on speedy relief, she also discusses the options of cross-border intermediary measures within the European Union. In an excursus, she deals with procedural provisions in international treaties, in particular the TRIPS Agreement. In doing so, she presents an overall picture of this area as it is seen by practitioners in the field of intellectual property rights.
