The booklet contains two articles in English written by Max Weber most likely in 1905 for an American encyclopedia. They appeared in this encyclopedia in 1907/08 and were discovered only recently and, therefore, unknown till now. They do belong to MWG I/8 and are presented as a supplement to this volume.
This supplementary booklet contains two articles in English written by Max Weber which were published in 1907/1908 in an American encyclopedia. They deal with the German agrarian and industrial systems from a comparative point of view, focusing on the comparison between Germany and the USA. Both texts, which were presumably written in 1905 and translated into English in 1906, belong to MWG I/8. In accordance with the editorial rules of the Max Weber-Gesamtausgabe, they are presented here as a supplement to this volume.
