Max Weber in der Welt

The reception history of Max Weber's works describes a global phenomenon: His influence can be detected in completely different cultural groups and in ideological contexts as well. This is the subject dealt with in this conference volume, which studies the reception of Weber from various perspectives. Several biographical articles address the influences which had a strong impact on Weber, for example his stay in Rome and his trip to the USA as well as his position on war, his examination of Taine's writings and his role as a witness of imperial Germany. Other articles also deal with Weber's own continuing impact. This ranges from his reception in Poland and Japan to Weber's influence in Turkey and in the Arabic-speaking countries.
