In this comparative study, Daniel Grätz examines the monitoring of sports federations' rules by the European, German and Swiss prohibition of the abuse of a dominant position. In doing so, he focuses mainly on the following areas: player release, doping, assignment of foreign players, purchase and transfer of tickets, majority and multi-club shareholding, the organization of sports events, sports equipment, sport sponsoring, the transfer of players and broadcasting rights. The author analyzes the extent to which the rules and regulations of sports federations are covered by the mentioned prohibitions . He then examines the dominant position held by the sports federations. The focal point of his book is a detailed examination of whether or not the sports federations' rules constitute an abuse within the meaning of the analyzed prohibitions of the abuse of a dominant position.
