Summary
In hardly any other genre of Latin literature is leisure as prominent as in the epistolography. The moments of production and reception of letters are often staged as moments of leisure and contain an implicit poetics. The volume investigates this connection between leisure, letter and poetics using the letters of Cicero, Seneca and Pliny.
