Summary
This book contains contributions to the 7th Travemünde Conference on Law and Economics. The authors deal with the economic analysis of central institutions of labor law in relation to the current unemployment crisis. They discuss the question of whether labor law in its present form leads to efficient solutions, and focus on rules protecting employees against dismissal and on collective wage agreements. Other contributions deal with labor contracts, the incentive structure in short term labor contracts and the liability of employees. The book concludes with articles on unemployment and labor law in Japan and on the Dutch employment recovers in the context of Dutch labor law.
