Due to the rapid rise of Japan, South Korea and more recently China, East Asia is becoming an economic, political and cultural world power. The influence of German law in these countries is sizable. However, instead of simply exporting the law, it is necessary to develop a real dialogue with the legal studies in East Asia. It is the intention of this volume, edited by Eric Hilgendorf, to make a contribution to this.
