Summary
In this volume, Andreas Lindemann has assembled 15 studies which were originally published between 1976 and 1998 in very different places. In the eight essays on Pauline theology and ethics, now arranged according to subject, Andreas Lindemann examines the Pauline talk of God and of Christ (resurrection), Pauline ethics and ecclesiology as well as their significance for the present and the future of Christianity. The seven studies of post-Pauline literature show the developmental tendency of different ways of understanding Paul, ranging from later New Testament writings to the latter part of the second century. They reveal a continuous adoption of Paul, thoroughly thought-out from a theological perspective, which makes it clear that the Apostle was recognized as a teacher of the church.
