Surrogacy arrangements are prohibited by German law. In the first part of her study, Sophie-Marie Humbert examines the reasons for this from an interdisciplinary perspective, which includes law, philosophy, and empirical research. In the second, she presents an alternative law for surrogacy, based on existing regulations for the donation of live organs.
