All of Wilhelm Hennis's works show his distinctive way of pursuing the field of political science. For him, political science is a 'practical science', a science of political dealings and of institutions which define these dealings. It is a part of the immutability of constantly changing circumstances, which makes theorizing about it possible to a limited extent only.
