Insurance law is a topic that is equally interesting for academia and important from a practical point of view. Insurance contracts serve different purposes, ranging from retirement provisions and protection against the risk of traffic accidents to worldwide coverage of industrial policyholders. In this textbook, the author focuses on insurance contract law. He does however include other topics such as insurance regulation or conflict of laws. Numerous case studies serve to further illustrate the legal questions addressed.
