Jan Schröder Geboren 1943; 1978 Habilitation; 1982–89 Professor für Bürgerliches Recht und Rechtsgeschichte in Bochum; 1989–2009 ordentlicher Professor für deutsche Rechtsgeschichte und Bürgerliches Recht in Tübingen; seit 2009 im Ruhestand; ordentliches Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur Mainz; Dr. h.c. der Universität Stockholm.

Thomas Finkenauer ist Universitätsprofessor für Bürgerliches Recht, Römisches Recht und Europäisches Privatrecht in Tübingen.

Claes Peterson Geboren 1948; Promotion 1979, ordentlicher Professor für Rechtsgeschichte an der juristischen Fakultät der Universität Stockholm und seit 1999 Direktor des Instituts für Rechtsgenetik in Stockholm.

Michael Stolleis ist emeritierter Direktor des Max-Planck-Instituts für europäische Rechtsgeschichte in Frankfurt am Main.
