Reform der Tötungsdelikte

The law on killing, and in particular the paragraph dealing with murder, has been in urgent need of reform for decades. The main problem is that the act of murder carries with it a mandatory life sentence, which in many cases has proved to be inadequate. In this volume, Anette Grünewald pleads for a privileged status concept. Murder could then be taken as a clear case of premeditated killing and at the same time the basic element of the offence. Manslaughter meanwhile would be granted privileges.
