Reformprozesse der Europäischen Gerichtsbarkeit

The European judicial system is a central pillar of EU integration that according to Art. 19 TEU has to ensure »that in the interpretation and application of the Treaties the law is observed.« The growing amount of legislation and the EU's expansion to (currently) 28 member states has inevitably increased the judicial system's workload and led to ever-longer procedures. These negative consequences triggered first reform efforts that are dealt with in this volume from a Polish and German perspective. Renowned practitioners and scholars from both countries cover topics ranging from the introduction of a European Court of Justice filter procedure, the efficiency of the new code of procedure, and a possible reform of the General Court.
