Maritime shipping is the prime example of a globalised industry. In this volume, Katharina Reiling develops a concept for international administrative law based on the idea that because maritime shipping administration is conglomerate in its structure, its instruments and legal framework for coordinating international administrative activity must be orientated towards this. The work examines the organization, instruments used, administrative legitimacy as well as legal protection in international administration before going on to explore whether and to what extent legal principles of international administrative law could provide an alternative to constitutional thinking.
