The question of what is valid when private persons conclude a contract and misunderstandings arise due to a language problem has not been answered satisfactorily up to now. In the past, there have been many attempts to find simple, overall solutions to the problem of the so-called »language risk.« However, none of these solutions have been satisfactory.
