Colleagues, students and friends have compiled this Festschrift for Rolf Dietrich Herzberg, who will turn seventy on February 14, 2008. Rolf Dietrich Herzberg has had an exemplary and unprecedented influence on criminal law and above all he has given the terms of the general section more clarity and precision. In this volume, the authors focus on substantive criminal law, above all the general section. In addition, the Festschrift also contains articles on legal philosophy, legal theory and legal methodology, criminal proceedings and execution of a sentence, policies of criminal law and criminology and as well as on transnational criminal law and the history of the law.
