To mark the founding of Association of German Constitutional Law Professors one hundred years ago, this volume aims to provide a critical history of the association from both an internal and external perspective. The first part reviews the various phases of its existence. The second is devoted to the topics dealt with at its conferences, ranging from the state and constitution to comparative administrative law. In the third part, sensitive issues and conflict zones are reviewed: How did the members deal with their Nazi past? What impact did the upheavals associated with 1968 have? Was there contact with neighbouring disciplines and what form did this take? How is the equality of women and men seen within the association? The final part reflects on the image projected by the association and how it is perceived by foreign countries and other legal disciplines.
