This collection of studies from almost three centuries is a result of the efforts made to reorient research on the Priestly Code. This is an independent and highly unconventional work of literature which deals with subjects ranging from the creation to the death of Moses and culminating in the sanctuary at Sinai. It originated during the early postexilic era (around 520 BC) and leads right into the center of the current discussion surrounding the establishment of a location for a new beginning after the exile. In his nine comprehensive individual studies, the author presents perspectives on the literary and the theological characteristics of the Priestly Code.
