It is common ground that licences have to be protected in case the underlying IP-right is subsequently transferred or licensed to a third party. Whereas the existence of such protection is stipulated by both the separate specific IP-statutes and the EU regulations on uniform IP titles, all these sources are silent on the legal technique how this protection is actually achieved.
