Summary
The correspondence with Wilhelm Wolfsohn is the earliest collection of letters written by Fontane to one person. It is an important source for assessing Fontane's political, professional and literary orientation process. A collection of essays in the second part of the volume describes Wolfsohn's educational and cultural background.
