Summary
'Sheqalim' is the fifth tractate of the order 'Zera'im' of the 'Talmud Yerushalmi' and deals with the annual Half-Sheqel Tax, based on Ex 30,11-16. Beside many details concerning the tax itself, other matters are dealt with e.g. financial management of the Temple treasury, use of donations and objects or money found in the Temple area or in Jerusalem, duties of Temple officials, details about the gates of the Temple area etc.
The translation is based on the available manuscripts and printed editions of 'Sheqalim'. A commentary and indexes facilitate the use of the book.
