Verantwortung der Wissenschaft

In this collection of essays, scientists and scholars from various fields discuss the responsibility of science. One of the areas investigated is how to deal with bacteria and viruses and the so-called green genetic engineering, for which microbiologists are responsible. A physician writes about red genetic engineering, from the problems of clinical research to research on embryos. The problems of responsibility in theology on the other hand result from the fact that a theology which is bound by denomination is a practical science. The last essay is a summary which deals with the inner boundaries resulting from the autonomy of science and the boundaries of the freedom of research which result from constitutionally protected legal interests such as the right of personality, environment, body and life as well as human dignity.
