In view of the constant increase in international transactions, should legal standards be unified to a larger extent, and if so would it be better to have this process governed by state or civil law? This question is particularly relevant in Europe, where it is to be feared that solutions which are too centralist will be given preference even if they do not offer any discernible or predominant advantages.
