  Summary
It is understood that a stipulation stands as a paradigm for an obligation. Certain contractual clauses, however, have assured the succession not only of the heirs, but even of successors to a single right of the creditor or the debtor. For the first time, Thomas Finkenauer demonstrates this break with the allegedly axiomatic dogma of the Roman law.
