Summary
Born in Jena in 1891, Walter Eucken was professor of economics in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1927 to 1950. As one of the founders of the Freiburg School and the architect of the thoretical framework for the social market economy, he had a substantial influence on German economic policy after 1945. 50 years after his death, this work is being published in memory of Walter Eucken the scholar and Walter Eucken the human being.
