Clerical social welfare work is increasingly being faced with the task of adjusting to a growing religious and cultural plurality. Against the backdrop of this plurality, there are new expectations raised by the non-Protestant clients, employees and cooperation. The articles in this volume range from a survey of the sociology of religion to an explanation of the framework of church law to the theological legitimation.
Clerical social welfare work is increasingly being faced with the task of adjusting to a growing religious and cultural plurality. Against the backdrop of this plurality, there are new expectations raised by the non-Protestant clients, employees and cooperation partners – and conversely new requirements to which clerical social welfare work must adhere if it is to fulfill its mission. The necessity and the boundaries of intercultural and interreligious receptiveness in clerical social welfare work are considered in this volume, based on the self-conception of this work and with a realistic look at the conditions of this work in a pluralistic context. The articles range from a survey of the sociology of religion to an explanation of the framework of church law to the theological legitimation.
