Taking up a thesis he developed in his paper on the »Competition of Competition Laws« (Nw.J.Int'l L. 1989), Karl M. Meessen now attempts to assess the impact the competition of systems has on economic law in its entirety. Based on an earlier discussion of 32 problem areas of economic law (Kluwer Law International, 2004), he allocates the role of an additional paradigm to institutional competition. This permits a new look at the development and interpretation of economic law with results differing according to its main fields of market law, transactions law and property rights law.
