Summary
The articles in this volume deal with the different aspects of the 'Bill to Modernize the Law of Obligations', which was published by the German Ministry of Justice in September 2000. The purpose of this bill is to implement the EU Directive on the Sale of Consumer Goods and to effectuate long-standing plans for the reform of Germany's law of obligations as a whole. The authors discuss this bill and point out its deficiencies. They also indicate future legal implications should this bill become law. Thus this book is a valuable contribution toward understanding the current discussion among legal scholars in Germany and is also a source of information on Germany's future law, if in fact the bill does become law.
