Parabiblica. Editiones et Studia
Edited by Felix Albrecht, Christfried Böttrich, Jan Dochhorn (managing editor), Nils Arne Pedersen, Jacques van Ruiten, and Tobias Thum
Parabiblica (PBib) is an international series exploring the rich and diverse world of parabiblical literature from antiquity to the present. These texts, while closely related to or inspired by the canonical biblical books, are not considered part of the official scriptures in Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Parabiblical works are embedded in a biblical narrative framework and often deal with religious themes, narratives, and characters from the Bible, offering additional perspectives, interpretations or elaborations on biblical events or teachings.
The Parabiblica series presents a wide range of scholarly works, including outstanding dissertations, specialised monographs, conference proceedings, and collections of essays by recognised experts in the field. The series considers both editions and studies dealing with the history of religion and the reception of these texts over time. To ensure the highest standards of scholarship, the academic quality of the series is overseen by an international editorial team.
