Practical Theology and Empirical Research in Religion
Edited by Annemie Dillen, Kristin Merle, Henrik Simojoki, and Kati Tervo-Niemelä
Recent years have seen major transformations in the field of practical theology. This new series acknowledges these developments by focusing on the increasing importance of empirical methodologies in academic research, the growing international character of practical theological dialogue, and the diminishing role of traditional denominational lenses, making room for more inclusive dialogues that cross religious and theological boundaries.
The series’ three key features are:
Empirical Emphasis: The series accommodates a broad spectrum of empirical methods, recognizing their growing prominence in theological research.
Global Reach: We plan to publish high-quality work in both English and German.
Inclusive Approach: Open to all religious traditions, the series moves beyond denominational constraints.
The series welcomes manuscript submissions for monographs, high-quality Ph.D. or habilitation theses, or innovative anthologies. All submitted manuscripts will undergo either a double-blind peer review by two external referees, or will be reviewed by the editorial board (depending on the requirements for the individual project). Each volume will be published in both print and ebook formats.
We offer several options for open access publications and look forward to receiving your manuscript.
