The series Studies in the Late Middle Ages, Humanism, and the Reformation (SMHR) focuses on the period between the late 13th century and the 17th century, including both epochs of the late Middle Ages and the early modern age. Particular attention is paid to the religious incentives which emerged in the church reform movements and the Reformation. In addition, it will deal with the entire range of cultural forces as represented by Renaissance humanism, which covers several epochs. The editor-in-chief of the series is Volker Leppin (Professor for Historical Theology at Yale Divinity School), he is supported by Christian Jaser (Professor for Medieval History at Kassel University), Beth Plummer (Professor for  Reformation and Early Modern European History an der University of Arizona, Tucson AZ), Matthias Pohlig (Professor for Early Modern European History at Humboldt-Universität Berlin), Eva Schlotheuber (Professor for Medieaval History at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf), and Klaus Unterburger (Professor for Medieval and Modern Church History at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich).
