This is a reading text, as a rule in the final version authorized by Karl Popper. The translations have been checked, and additions to previous versions have been marked.
Each volume contains an afterword, written by the editor of the volume, which describes the intellectual context of its origins and outlines the history of its reception. The version on which the volume is based, any previous versions along with the history of their editions and translations as well as the special editorial features of each volume are provided in a separate bibliographical appendix.
Each volume has an index of names and subjects. Those volumes whose previous editions were already widely available and which have often been quoted also contain a page concordance so that references from secondary literature can be easily found.
The volumes can be purchased individually, to the extent that this is permissible under publishing law. Subscribers to the complete edition will be charged a lower price. There will be a parallel student edition of those texts relevant for students.
