Amelie Rüppel analyses church interpretations of the financial crises of 1929 and 2008 based on empirical digital text analysis. Through three guiding narratives - sin, trust, and creation - she demonstrates how religious interpretive patterns shape economic action and inform theological-ethical reflections on responsibility and trust.

In the present volume, the manifold practice of biblical exegesis is taken up methodically and transferred into an integrative overall model of textual interpretation. Students receive the fundamental “tools” for a scholarly, reflective treatment of New Testament texts and their receptions.

This volume contains three sources and studies drawn from the late medieval records of the Benedictine convent of Lüne near Lüneburg - the edition of the statute book with the rites of admission to the monastic community, the diary of the prioress Mechthild Wilde about her own election, and a study on the networks of the Lüne provosts, especially with regard to their acquisition of benefices.

Meike J. Röhrig examines the oracles concerning Egypt in Ezekiel 29-32 from a literary-historical and religious-historical perspective. She reveals how the image of Egypt that these texts produce develops from that of a chaotic foreign power into an other counterpart to YHWH, which differs from Israel and resembles Israel at the same time.
