Summary
The article discusses a unique literary inscription discovered in the excavations of the Horvat 'Uza fortress, a site located on the southeastern border of the Negev. First, it suggests a new transliteration, translation and detailed commentary on the text. Second, it offers an interpretation of the text, defines its literary genre, discusses its place in relationship to biblical literature and examines its contribution to the evaluation of literacy in the Negev in the late First Temple period.
