Constructive Climate Anger (CCA) as A Mode of Thriving

This article investigates constructive climate anger (CCA) as a viable aspect of polit-ical spirituality that can heighten thriving/eudaimonia. Engaging theories of self-determination and integrative emotion regulation, this article develops a detailed construct of (CCA) and uses a study to test it. The article focuses on how construc-tive anger is motivated, formed, and how it might sustain collective action in a time of intensifying climate breakdown and energy-related conflicts. It reviews existing research on political anger and traces emerging work on the construct of construc-tive anger as a force that can fuel long term engagement in activism. This inter-disciplinary inquiry brings political theology together with social psychology, to produce a richer account of the dynamics of social activism and its psychological and spiritual aspects.
