This article analyzes passages in Jeremiah 30–33 regarding hopes for the survivors of the Babylonian conquest and for those living under early-Persian hegemony. Methodologically, the article combines a redaction-critical analysis with post-trauma and postcolonial perspectives. The different voices in Jeremiah 30–33, which use and transform the Jeremiah tradition and compete about the shape of Judah's future, are read as products of a discourse among different groups in Judah and Babylonia alike.
