This article examines an intriguing seal impression on a cuneiform tablet from Ugarit, depicting the name Šipṭi-Ba'al in Egyptian hieroglyphs. The aim is to demonstrate that the individual bearing this West Semitic name was, in fact, an Egyptian. Through a comprehensive analysis of sources, the life of this Egyptian, likely belonging to the second generation of Egyptians who settled in Ugarit, is reconstructed. His life story
