Hans-Georg Gadamer (1900–2002):
1922 Dr. phil; 1929 habilitation supervised by Martin Heidegger; 1949 professorship in Heidelberg as Karl Jaspers' successor; 1968 professor emeritus. Hans-Georg Gadamer received several honorary doctorates, from 1969 to 1972 he was the president of the Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften and received the Hegel Prize, the Karl Jaspers Prize and other awards.
