For a long time, the significance of the Talmud Yerushalmi was underestimated. Since unlike the Talmud Bavli it has a Gemara on the first Seder, which deals with agriculture, the reader can learn a great deal about everyday life in ancient Israel.
This is the first German translation of the Talmud Yerushalmi. It is based on a critical review of the hand-written records and early print editions. A detailed commentary which includes the traditional commentaries as well as modern research enable a deeper understanding of this work.
