Die fünfzehn Beiträge dieses Bandes, die bei einer internationalen Tagung in Kopenhagen im Mai 2017 präsentiert wurden, untersuchen und diskutieren Bilder des Exils in den Prophetenbüchern. Einige behandeln bestimmte Passagen oder biblische Bücher, während andere sich dem Thema durch einen Vergleich verschiedener Bücher oder durch eine genauere Betrachtung einer bestimmten Metapher oder eines bestimmten Themas annähern. Eine wiederkehrende Frage ist, welche Rolle Sprache und Metaphern im Versuch der Propheten spielen, die Erfahrungen des Exils auszudrücken, zu strukturieren und zu bewältigen.
