Ablösung der Staatsleistungen an die Kirchen?

The state contributions to churches based on the german basic law (Art. 140 GG/Art. 138 par. 2 WRV) is now and again an issue of public, political and professionnal debate. The constitutional requirement concerning a detachment of these contributions has not been met ever since it had been included in german constitutional law in 1919.
The article offers an overview of the dogmatics used and some divergent views on some topics involved in the understanding of the constitutional specifications. It contains a proposal for a constitutional amendment of Art. 140 GG aiming at the repeal of the constitutional requirement and the preservation oft he contributions at the same time.
