Die internationale Renaissance der Philosophie Ernst Cassirers und ihre Gegenwart im Abschluss der Nachlass-Edition

Ernst Cassirer is widely recognized as one of the few polymaths of the 20th century. Over the past three decades, his philosophy has undergone extensive reconstruction and renewal. At its core, Cassirer's philosophy aims to conceptually encompass the totality of human expressions in perception, understanding, knowledge, and action, systematically demonstrating how symbolic forms mediate and illuminate the interplay between mind and world. With the completion of the edition of Cassirer's extensive Nachlass, we are now in a position to reassess the contributions made by both the Gesammelte Werke (ECW) and the Nachgelassene Manuskripte und Texte (ECN). This paper evaluates these textual resources against the backdrop of current Cassirer scholarship, underscoring the ongoing relevance and vitality of Cassirer's thought.
