Laiinnenveständlichkeit von Gesetzen als verfassungsrechtlicher Maßstab?

The comprehensibility of the law for laypersons is the subject of ongoing discussion in jurisprudence. Drawing on recent decisions of the German Federal Constitutional Court and bringing its reasoning into dialogue with insights from pragmatic linguistics, this article identifies linguistic and doctrinal assumptions that form the basis for a more developed constitutional standard of comprehensibility of the law from the perspective of laypersons.
