Beschreibung
This article discusses some metaphysical issues from Axel Hutter's recent introductory book Sprachanalyse und Metaphysik. Eine Einführung in die moderne Philosophie (2025). It particularly focuses on what Hutter says about the »world« and the »person«, i.e. two of the three traditional metaphysical »totalities«. Some possible elaborations on his ideas are sketched, especially concerning Hutter's conception of a »metaphysical name«, the notion of »identity«, and the relation between »person(hood)« and »self-consciousness«. Moreover, the article highlights certain connections between these ideas and some central motifs from Hutter's Narrative Ontology (2017 (22025)). It thus also aims to show that an introduction to metaphysics can only be achieved in an already metaphysical way.
